It Never Sleeps Premiere!

Gosh, I love Lovecraft. I also love 1920s detective thrillers and everything pulp. And I love D&D, which I why I beseeched the Maimed Lord Vecna (praise be) to create this site in the first place.

That's the reason why I'm do damn excited about this season of Hero Club -- they've used our very own Lovecraft Handbook to create a 1920s detective thriller called It Never Sleeps! Even if you're not regularly a podcast person, you should give this a listen: it's slickly-presented and entertaining as hell. Plus, the monster that shows up in this episode is legitimately scary -- I'm genuinely jealous that I didn't write this myself.

To give you an idea of what to expect, the main character is playing an Investigator rogue, so we've redone that whole PDF with a fresh coat of paint. Enjoy!

  1. Congrats on having your material used! Just listened to the podcast and gotta say I love it. Do you happen to know what race/class Big Charlie uses?

    1. No idea, but I'm excited to ask them about it! If they homebrewed something for their table, I'll ask if I can build a race (or at least a near-human option) to show everyone. Or perhaps I can put him together as an NPC statblock.

Also, that monster is wicked cool. I wanna do something with that.

    3. It sounded like Illithids are coming up, based on the figures on the items in the museum. I've gotta say, I'm not generally one for podcasts, but this one's great.

The Rumor Dust is definitely more useful than I expected it to be- but then again, it's meant for exactly that sort of setting.

  2. Is the Archetype definitely called Investigation rather than Investigator?
